Place:Off-piste Verbier, Switzerland
Despite the usual classics like the Rockgardens and the backside of Mt. Fort there are several other runs in Verbier that are rarely skied. The reason being either steepness, approach time or approach difficulty. On this trip we could, due to the small group size, traverse from Mont Gele into a couloir called La Banane which is indeed shaped like a banana. Because of the quite difficult and exposed approach which involves some scrambling on a narrow ridge, we found virgin slopes and great powder turns even after one week of continuous sunshine.
