After the first snowfalls early in November, we were eager to resurrect our
skis from the basements. Andermatt offered the best snow conditions and due to
time constraints we opted for two days, one touring and one freeride.
On our first day, we took the train from Andermatt to Oberalppass. From there,
we climbed great skiing terrain to just below the summit of Pazolastock (2740m).
Unfortunately, we had bad visibility with an all-embracing fog around us.
However, we made up for the bad weather by climbing the route twice to get more
meters skiing.
The second day was spent with freeriding at Gemsstock. After half a meter of
fresh snow overnight, it was unclear if the upper cable car would open.
After a good warmup in easier terrain in the morning, they finally opened
the Gemsstock lift and great runs in good snow made our day.
